Oversees payroll and attendance functions.
Essential Functions:
Resolves associate issues and grievances to maintain a union-free environment.
Performs investigations, if necessary.
Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long-term management objectives.
Manages the workers' compensation program to include case management, cost containment, back to work program and legal aspects of worker's compensation.
Administers the benefits programs for all Litchfield and Troy associates.
Recruits, interviews and hires hourly and salaried associates.
Recommends personnel policies and procedures.
Administers the in-house bidding/promotion program for hourly associates.
Advises associates and other managers regarding personnel policies, procedures and employment law.
Manages various associate services programs including food service, uniforms and service award program.
Ensures compliance with EEOC laws, and makes recommendations to senior management regarding compliance with those laws.
Resolves associate complaints and manages legal issues.
Oversees payroll and attendance functions.
Completes government reports and responds to government requests for information.

Responsible for HR Document storage area; insures legal and internal policy compliance including proper labeling and retention guidelines.
Performs visual inspection of this area monthly.
Secondary Functions:
Plans/coordinates associate events such as summer picnic, service awards banquet, Christmas party, etc.
Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities,
Experience:
4-year degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience, required.
2-4 years experience in a human resources function preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA / MIOSHA laws and regulations relating to worker compensation.
Knowledge of employment law, ADA, FMLA, and related government programs necessary.
Basic understanding of accounting helpful.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as printers and plotters.
Sometimes works around dangerous factory equipment.
Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects - up to 25 pounds.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
